I have this thing that I do. Every year, instead of a New Year's Resolution, I pick a hobby and commit to being passable at it by the end of the year. I've done sewing, building guitar pedals, and more, but 2023 was the year that I was going to learn how to make beer.
I found a university in Denver, CO that had a 1-year Certificate in Brewing Science. How the stars aligned on this, I will never know, but I signed up. As a part of that program, I teamed up with a few of my classmates to design a brewing operation from the ground up. Logistics, location, marketing, distribution, sourcing furniture and brewing supplies. We had to do it all and then record a "pitch" video for potential investors.
I was designated to be the master architect and designer of the space. My time had come. I was going to design and build the whole thing in Maya and Unreal 5.
The interior of the brewery is made up of assets I built and textured myself. The brewery exterior is made up of Unreal Asset Store assets and a few premium assets I purchased from a vendor.
I did all of the lighting and blueprinting for the scene myself.
Below is the final project video, which I also wrote, directed, and edited.
